Fishing/Angling
With Lough Mask to the north and Lough Corrib to the South, allowing our guest the opportunity to fish in the largest wild trout fishery in Europe. The season extends from 15 February to 30 September (the dapping season from mid may to mid June) There are many local gillies (fishing guides) available locally. A salmon licence may be purchased in the village. Ryan's Hotel has been home to fishermen from all over the world, some of them this year returning for their 47th year.
Walking & Hiking
Cong offers the tourist excellent walkways by rivers, lake, mountains and forests. Many caves are to be viewed and points of interest include Kelly’s Cave, BallyMcClancy Cave, the Pigeon Hole and the Dry Canal. Guided tours can be arranged for party’s of 10 or more.
