GolfCong offers a nine hole golf course at Ashford Castle and an 18 hole golf course Ballinrobe Golf Club's location on a 300 acre estate is an idyllic setting for such a magnificent championship course. The 7,100-yard, par-73, course was laid out and designed by well-known architect Eddie Hackett and the contoured greens, which are 80% sand based, are playable all year round. World renowned Irish golfer, Padraig Harrington, described Ballinrobe Golf Course as "..The finest championship golf course in the West of Ireland". Claremorris Golf Club was designed in 1927 by Tom Craddock and is situated in the heart of Ireland's West, midway between Galway and Sligo near the town of Claremorris. This 18 hole parklands course is a spectacular par 73 layout measuring 6,143 metres and lies in an idyllic setting with mature oak, ash and elm trees a feature on many holes. The signature par 4 hole, the 6th, requires a long accurate drive to a well bunkered fairway leaving a mid iron to an elevated green. It is fully deserving of its stoke index 1, and a par here is well earned. Golfers of all abilities will enjoy this true test of golf and afterwards relax in a modern and newly refurbished clubhouse with full bar and catering facilities. Westport Golf Club |
